A Two Night Stay in Greenville, SC

An alternative title to this post could be: ‘A very laid back two night stay in Greenville’

Since it’s the start of the new year, we decided to take a short trip to “reset” and plan what we want the coming year to look like. We work from home, so the idea of doing this in a new and unfamiliar place felt right to help keep us inspired and focused. We chose Greenville since it’s just under a three hour drive from us and had been wanting to go back for some time. (Let’s be honest though, we really just wanted to go back and spend lots of time at Methodical , one of our favorite coffee shops.)

We didn’t do very much besides going out to dinner and working at a couple cafes in town. We stayed at the perfect AirBnb, which we’ve linked below. We highly recommend! It’s the coziest little bungalow for two.

Day 1

Before check in at 4pm, we spent the day in downtown working at Methodical, sipping on delicious coffee, and listening to the various vinyl albums they were spinning behind the bar.

Afterwards, we stopped by the store to get some groceries for our stay (shout out to Publix and their delicious subs).

We spent the night in, baked chocolate chip cookies and watched Notting Hill for the first time. Can we talk about how dreamy Julia and Hugh are in that movie?! And those 90s ‘fits?!

Okay, maybe another time…

Day 2

We had a slow morning before diving into our checklist of plans and goals for 2023. We also worked on a delicious cookie recipe -which we will be sharing in the near future, so keep an eye out for that- and rested some more that afternoon.

That night we enjoyed a delicious meal at Jianna and,

wow.

We don’t have many words for just how delicious it was. All we can say is that if you ever find yourself in Greenville, you have got to go.

We ordered the Campanelle with braised chicken ragu, pearl onions, beech mushrooms, pickled fresno chilis, and the Rigatoni al Nero di Seppia, with Maine lobster, french beans, preserved lemon, and breadcrumb.

Seriously, go.

Day 3

We spent the day doing one of our favorite pastimes: coffee shop hopping. First, we tackled the rest of our to-do list at another Methodical location in The Commons, an industrial warehouse-turned-food hall with unique retail and office spaces.

The second stop was Junto Coffee. Located about twenty minutes northwest of Greenville, this shop is totally worth the trek; not to mention the vibes are, *chefs kiss*. We loved the wide open space, the various types of seating, and the hot chocolate we ordered was pretty perfect. We could’ve spent the whole day there…

Have you ever been to Greenville? If you’re wanting to take a trip there, we’ve found some other great AirBnb’s you might like. And send us an email if you need any other recommendations!
